Can I Start a Product Review Blog?

Product review blog are great because they fill such a dire need: namely, that of people to get an unbiased opinion about a product before they actually go out and purchase it themselves. Every single day, we hear or read about a new or upcoming product and perform a quick search on the internet to see if it’s any good. It’s a fun and easy way to let people know if a certain product will really be worth their while or if they should pass on it. But it’s also a great way for companies to advertise and sell their wares.

If you own a website or an affiliate company, you can use a product review blog to your advantage. For example, say that you operate a blog that deals with niche cooking. You may find that cooking products are big sellers in your particular niche. So, what do you do? You write a few articles on the subject and post them on your affiliate link (provided to you by the company that granted you your affiliate membership) so that every time a visitor to your site clicks through to the affiliate site and buys something, you receive a percentage of the sale as a commission.

Now, your first thought may be to just sign up to a web hosting package and upload your content to the internet for free. Sure, you could do this – but would you want to do it for just one product review blog? Probably not. You’d either have to invest in your own web hosting package or hire someone else to do it for you. Neither of these options is cheap.

What you can do instead is simply use a product review blog within your niche. You don’t necessarily need your own web host. All you need is a domain name with a keyword rich domain name pointing at it. Then, all you need to do is start writing and posting to your new blog about products within your niche.

If you don’t have the money to start writing an article every other day about products within your niche then you could choose instead to become an affiliate marketer for a product review website that specializes in reviewing just one niche product. These sites tend to be free to sign up for and offer a simple point-and-click interface. And once you’ve gotten a few products reviewed then you can set up your own product review blog and start writing reviews on those products. You’ll soon see your traffic numbers go up and your sales are going up as people read your recommendations.

Another way is to become a writer for a tax professional, or for a freelance publishing company. Again, you don’t need your own web hosting package. You can choose to start writing for free using article submission websites. One great thing about these submission websites is that not only can you submit your work, but if you get published more than one time you can also send your work to publishers. As a result, your work may be featured on a number of different sites and generate a nice income for you as a blogger.
